Born in Toronto and raised on the West Coast, I’ve been a successful illustrator, designer and fine artist in Toronto for more than 35 years.
After graduating from art school I freelanced as an illustrator in Vancouver for several years before moving to Toronto in 1981. During my career in advertising I worked with most of the major agencies in Canada and New York, creating work for clients that included Coca Cola, Honda, Purina, Molson, Pfizer and Christies – winning multiple Art Directors Club awards along the way.
Later, I turned to book and editorial illustration and produced award-winning work for Macleans, Toronto Life and Time magazine as well as Penguin Random House, McClelland & Stewart and Scholastic amongst others.
It’s been a rewarding career but after 40 years of creating work for others, I’m looking for a new challenge. Every artist wants to leave their mark and I’ve decided to try and leave mine in classical portraiture – a highly specialized discipline for which I have a particular affinity.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss your idea or just to kick around some possibilities. With a 35 year, award-winning career, I guarantee a superior result and a treasured legacy for generations.
“The aim of Art is to present not the outward appearance of things, but their inner significance; for this, not the external, constitutes true reality.”
